Today we had airway training. Our numbers have not been so good even though we have multiple different airway devices on board. Our OMD came and taught our class. We got to practice using our ILMA, the King LT and the bougie. He talked about crash airway, and failed airway. We were able to ask him as many questions as we needed and practice over and over. I know I feel much more comfortable with the ILMA and the King now than I did before. This was the best class I have been to in the last 4 years and our training officer has other ideas forthe near future to get us a broader range of classes and experience. I am excited.

I love the king LT- just beware- in real-life application it will get a little air in the belly. Don't put manual pressure on said belly unless you want a really mad partner in need of decon. :D
Would you be so kind as to pop over to my blog and leave some feedback on your take of my post about hipaa versus first amendment? Thanks so much.
Our King airways are great they have a channel on the side that you can feed a gastric tube down. Makes it much less messy. I found that very useful the first time I used it and I swear my patient had eaten everything in the fridge.
I'm guessing you have the LT-D then? I think thats the difference between the two. Glad you had a good airway class, or as a certain instructor from a certain South American country that teaches at a certain college and works part time in a certain city would say, "errwey" class.
It is almost impossible to get too much airway practice.
